Under the agreement, Centrobe will provide reduced selection costs for files sent to the Abacus alliance for participation in their cooperative database. The agreement will benefit Centrobe publishing clients by reducing the cost of acquisition, retention and reactivation programs utilizing Abacus data. Nicholas Cuccaro, president, Centrobe Publications and Associations, noted "Our publishing clients face a constant challenge to acquire new customers. By teaming with Abacus, we are clearing a path for our clients to undertake affordable and effective acquisition programs utilizing the world's most extensive cooperative database." Tony White, president, Abacus Direct, said "Centrobe has one of the most respected client rosters in the publishing industry. We welcome Centrobe's publishing clients to explore the benefits of the Abacus Direct alliance. Ultimately, I hope each and every one of Centrobe's clients joins our publishing alliance." A number of Centrobe clients have already undertaken pilot projects under the new agreement. The Abacus alliance is a cooperative database comprised of all transactions from multiple catalogs and magazine titles, which provides publishers and catalogers with a comprehensive view of a subscriber's purchase behavior.
